Arsenic Treatment in West Linn, OR

Arsenic Treatment in West Linn, OR

Arsenic has no smell, taste or color. The only way to find it is a lab test. It comes from natural rock formations in many parts of the country, and the federal limit for public water is 10 micrograms per liter (10 ppb). Private wells have no required limit, so the owner has to check. West Linn, OR Well Water Treatment provides arsenic treatment for wells in West Linn, OR.

Arsenic comes in two forms. Arsenic V (arsenate) is easier to remove. Arsenic III (arsenite) is common in low-oxygen groundwater and passes through many filters unless it is oxidized first. A speciated test tells us which one you have.

Treatment options:

• Whole-house adsorptive media, often iron-based, with pre-oxidation if arsenic III is present
• Point-of-use reverse osmosis at the kitchen sink for drinking and cooking water
• Pre-treatment for iron, which can compete with arsenic for media sites

We recommend follow-up testing after install and on a regular schedule after that, because media capacity runs out.
